GONE TO ECUADOR

Field season is here again! For the next month I’ll be back in the jungle, demonstrating on Manchester University’s tropical ecology field course. The internet connection is, at best, going to be intermittent, but you can’t really complain about such things when you are in one of the most biodiverse places on earth. We’ll be spending a few days in the cloud forest in the legendary (for birders, anyway) Tandayapa valley, before crossing the Andes and thenceforth to the Amazon rainforest and the one and only San Jose de Payamino. I am SO excited to wake up to the sound of the oropendolas and cannot wait to see what exciting wildlife we come across.

I get back in mid-July, hence it might be a bit quiet here until then- but there will hopefully be a plethora of jungle posts to write when I get back. Samashu Manchester, see you soon!
