HI! I’M CIARA

I’m a recent Doctor of Primatology and conservationist, continuing to make my way through this most extraordinary of job sectors and taking photographs along the way. I split my time between my home in East Anglia and the wonderful places that my job takes me- mainly the Ecuadorian Amazon, which is where I did my PhD fieldwork and which continues to feed my soul with its extraordinariness.

I’m a devotee of all nature, but there will always be a special place in my heart for narwhals, white-tailed sea eagles, weedy sea dragons, and of course, stripy tapirs.

This is a blog about finding where the wild things are.

Hi Ciara, it’s Maria Karaulova from Manchester Uni; you may remember that we met back in early 2018 when I was writing a POST fellowship application. Well, I started the fellowship in January and my project is about the impact of POSTnotes in Parliament! Actually, Jonny Wentworth suggested that I should look at your Microplastics POSTnote as one of the most impactful in recent years, I wonder if you have time to speak with me about it again? Happy to send more info by email. In any case, thank you for your help so far! Talking to you got me to where I am now.
